AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS

This award is given in honor of our founder, Sis. Mattie Blackstone McIntosh to pay special tribute to a faithful, dedicated, diligent sister & member of the Church of Christ.  Write an essay (400 words or less), on your church’s letterhead, telling us why you feel this sister deserves the Founder's Award. Include a picture. This year’s winner will receive a beautiful keepsake and a FREE Registration to the next retreat!! **

SCHOLARSHIP

Winnie Jewel Wright 

This award is presented to a sister in Christ attending college.  She must be a faithful and committed member of a Church of Christ congregation and be in good standing academically. An essay (400 words or less) detailing how you plan to use your degree in service to the Lord’s Kingdom, also please include church & community involvement. Must be submitted on your congregation’s letterhead. Include a picture of the nominee. This year’s winner will receive a $500 Check! **

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

$250.00 Grant for ages 8 thru 12
Good student, 100 word essay on this year’s retreat theme.
$500.00 Grant for ages 13 thru 17
Good student, 300 word essay based on this year’s retreat theme.
$750.00 Grant for ages 18 thru 30
Community involvement, 500 word essay on this year’s retreat theme.
Winners in each category will also receive a sash embroidered with
“LaTeacha A. Coleman Foundation 2023”, a custom crown and certificate. **

A paid registration will be given to a minimum of 15 faithful and committed sisters. A one paragraph essay must be submitted on your congregation’s letter-head explaining why this sister needs assistance, signed by the submitter and the minister or leader of the congregation. All names will be put into a drawing and the selectors will be notified after the March 6, 2023 submission deadline. **

BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

Jonesy Girl Productions Entrepreneur Scholarship

Offered by Lieutenant Colonel Lynette Jones, U.S. Army, a Sister in Christ who owns and operates Jonesy Girl Productions.  She believes your purpose, integrity, and drive should match the award criteria: 
●    Female member of the Church of Christ

      Submit a letter from Church leadership stating you are a member in good standing
●    Have at least an Associate’s Degree (In any field),  or two years experience in running a business.
●    Submit a copy of your Business License. Must show proof that you are a business owner in good standing
●    Submit a one-page statement that includes the 5W’s: Who you are, What is your business, When did you start,                       Where did you start, Why did you start, and why you should receive this scholarship. (Please no more than one page)


In addition to the $500 award, the recipient will receive two valuable business coaching sessions                                        with Lieutenant Colonel Jones. 

Her personal mantra is “People are our Biggest Asset, so let’s treat them that way!” **
